The research team of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, running the European

Research Project QUING (Quality In Gender Equality Policies) along with other 12 European partners  funded by the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission, opens a new call for researching candidates.
 

After a first period of selecting and analyzing information about gender equality policies in Spain, Portugal, Italy, and the European Union and about gender training in Europe, we would now like to incorporate several people to continue this project’s development.
 
In this second stage of the project, the tasks to be covered include, amongst others: continuing with the policy frame analysis, comparative analysis of gender+[1] equality policies in Europe, analysis and evaluation of pilot experiences in gender training, elaborating and writing down reports, presenting results at meetings and conferences and several other tasks related to the project’s management.
 
Requirements of the candidate researchers:
 
All candidates need to have a university degree, experience in carrying out research, some knowledge of gender theory, and an advanced level of written and spoken English (all the analysis will be carried out in English). Fluency in Spanish will be required for researchers in charge of all tasks related with the study of gender policies in Spain and gender training.
 
In addition to these requirements, we will take into account:
 

• Knowledge in the context of gender policies in Spain, Italy and/or Portugal.
• Italian or Portuguese language skills
• Masters and/PhD in gender policies or related fields
• Frame analysis skills
• Experience or knowledge in gender training

We are looking for people with great ability and motivation for team work, who enjoy researching and are interested in gender topics. Autonomy and initiative will be highly valued.
 
Conditions:
 

• Full-time contract offered; possibilities of part-time can be considered depending on the profile of the candidate
• Approximate length of time: 10 months
• Estimated pay: Pre-doctoral 1.400/month; Post-doctoral 1.750/month
• Start: 1st September 2008
